David Tvildiani Medical University
David Tvildiani Medical University is functioning since 1992-93 offering Higher Education especially in the field of medicine. It is officially recognized by MCI & enlisted with WDOMS. The university offers quality higher education and the best international experience in medicine. It focuses on continuous improvement in teaching, learning, research & management quality. It has a modern infrastructure and healthy environment which promotes learning, development and active participation of students.
The university has 476 graduates and currently, there are 884 Georgian and foreign students studying diploma in medicine, a diploma in medical and e-PD and doctoral programs. Around 271 employees are facilitating academic, administrative, other teaching and research at the university. There are 7 departments: 5 combines 39 disciplines (directions) to cover 74 courses in different modes to deliver training in scientific-research and clinical skills of departments.

Each campus of JASU reflects the character and history of its town. In Jalal-Abad itself, the University was built on
the foundations of the old Jalal-Abad Pedagogical School, and the Zoological – Veterinary Technical School. The
Jalal-Abad State University has always been committed to international exchange and cooperation.
AIETI is included into the WHO AVICENNA Directory for medicine, it is a member of the Association for Medical
Education in Europe (AMEE), Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) and Organization for PhD Education
in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System (ORPHEUS).
Since 2011 AIETI Medical School was renamed after the academician David Tvildiani in David Tvildiani Medical
University. Among numerous factors contributing to medical progress, an important role is assigned to perfection of
the system of continued medical education and training of the personnel for high qualification.
Laboratories
Key Laboratory of Material Physics, Ministry of Education
This laboratory is divided into east and west sections sharing totally 1950 square meters. West section
includes blood bank, sites for collection of specimen, and routine and emergency tests. And the east section,
the main part of our laboratory, is equipped with state of the art equipments, with scientifically designed
workflow.
Library
The Daphne Hare Medical Library, an organic component of the educational process at the Medical School `AIETI` was established in 1995 based on the generous donation from USA libraries, organized by the late Dr. Daphne Hare. The library contains over 5000 volumes representing almost all branches of medicine, the top place being occupied by up-to-date medical textbooks, manuals, guides, audio-video aids, which serve as, an integral part of the school academic curricula. Computers provide quick access to every book or any other item kept within the library funds. This collection, popular with the medical professionals in Georgia, is open to everyone who seeks to acquire knowledge in medical field.
Student life
The university has 4 hostels, separate for girls and boys with all basic amenities and ensures a study conducive environment for the students. It includes accommodation, free high-speed Internet, television, study room, gaming section, etc. It has a rich culture oriented cafeteria which serves a different type of food- Chinese, Italian, Indian, etc. The University makes students experience unique in the activities and programs organized within the university premises. It facilitates the formation of student councils, to enable them and govern themselves thereby giving them the opportunity to indulge in various activities within the campus.
